Standing still DAILY…

blog down
Too often we find ourselves moving at such a fast pace. Even myself as a single and childless household I would find myself moving constantly. Grocery store visits, casual babysitting nights, helping friends, long hours at work, cleaning and maintaining my home, and somewhere in there I find time to sleep. Can you see what was missing in my typical schedule? I forgot daily to stand still and acknowledge God. My outcome was utter chaos.
Things have slowed down dramatically, after the  loss of my job and staying home daily. I felt I had just the right amount of time to talk to God; wrong! I still have managed to be too busy in my mind, and have forgotten the one most important thing; STANDING STILL.
Often we find life to be tossed like a sea, but we never remember until after the blessing who calmed the sea. I don’t want another day to pass without saying Lord thank you for the tossed seas. You see it is there when God can speak the greatest messages. We listen with all ears and eyes in hopes to find a way to escape the chaos.
God is merciful to us, you see He already knows that this is how we are going to act and think. He knows that we are only going to come to Him when we are troubled. He knows our heart, outcome and future; How could He not know that we only need Him when we are troubled? A quote I heard once “When we are down to nothing, God is up to something”. This should be our daily thought.
Today if you find yourself in a life battle, or even if you’re standing on the mountain high; do not forget to stand still and say thank you Lord. Standing in faith is a hard thing to do, but if you love the Lord as you claim; standing still becomes a positive habit.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalms 46:10 KJV)
